Sinterit Offers Upgraded Version of Lisa SLS 3D Printer

Two months after the premiere of the Lisa Pro SLS printer, Sinterit launched an upgraded version of the flagship Lisa 3D printer, which uses the same selective laser sintering technology.

The Polish company Sinterit is one of the first manufacturers of relatively affordable SLS 3D printers. Affordability is a relative term, but Lisa’s flagship systems are offered for $5,000, which is comparable to professional-grade desktop FDM 3D printers. Powder materials, consisting of polyamides and elastomers, are more expensive than filaments, but the price is still fairly reasonable  — about €60–130 per kilogram in the European market. The upgraded version of the system features improved hardware and print quality as well as more convenient maintenance.

“Our design team has been continuously working on improving our signature 3D printers since the premiere of the Sinterit Lisa in 2014. For the past four years, we have spent almost every day looking for ways to improve the quality and convenience. The result will allow users of our systems to print better and more reliably,” says Michał Grzymała-Moszczyński, Co-Founder of Sinterit.

The first difference between the Lisa 1.5 and the original version is the increased size of the build volume along the Y axis, which now reaches 245 mm instead of the previous 227 mm. The area of the print bed itself has not changed, but the new version provides more uniform heating, which allows for a larger maximum size of printed products.

Redesigned hardware provides more precise temperature control for improved print reliability. The design of the printer has undergone a number of changes, including a more efficient heat shield and new protective glass that covers the laser system. The glass is easily removed to reduce the time spent on maintenance and cleaning after a print job. Finally, the new Lisa version has an improved, more comfortable user interface.
