Massivit Released 1800 Pro Large-Format Photopolymer 3D Printer

The Israeli company Massivit 3D Printing Technologies offers a new large-format 3D printer called Massivit 1800 Pro. The high-performance Massivit additive machines are used in the production of promotional products, thermoforming molds, and prototyping.

Massivit devices print with photopolymer gels using proprietary Gel Dispensing Printing technology: the material is applied by heads with ultraviolet emitters that immediately cure the polymer. This approach allows achieving high performance and, most importantly, scaling the usable volume to “massive” levels. For example, the maximum linear speed of these printers is 300 mm/s, and the print speed of a cylinder with a diameter of one meter along the Z axis reaches 35 cm/h. For objective reasons, consumables are supplied in buckets.

A couple of years ago, the company released the smallest 3D printer in its lineup, the Massivit 1500 Exploration, but this “baby” is also capable of building products up to 1470 x 1160 x 1370 mm in size with a usable build volume of two and a half cubic meters. The flagship model Massivit 1800 prints objects of up to 1450 x 1110 x 1800 mm using one or two heads. The new Massivit 1800 Pro version retains the flagship’s speed and volume, but offers higher resolution and comes with two heads by default.

The proprietary Massivit SMART Pro software allows not only setting the resolution level and layer thickness but also dynamically changing these parameters during the workflow depending on the printed area. The new Mega Quality mode delivers high speed and detail with optimized resin usage, saving time and money. In addition, the device boasts the possibility of remote control and monitoring via mobile devices.
