I’d be interested in a detailed discussion about lead generation and initial contact with a potential client. Kind of a very first step in the funnel.
Currently many different companies are asking me this question so I thought I would address it here. It seems that business will be opening up for America soon and IT companies in Russia are trying to prepare for this and hit the ground running.
Lead generation involves different steps
1. Deciding on the industry and potential clients
2. Studying deeply, the needs and expectations of these clients
3. Working on the company image, Internet presence and marketing materials, and training of staff to present correctly in the United States market.
4. There are some key differences on websites marketing materials that are different than Russian standard
5. Then lead research to find phone numbers and a bit about the people you’re calling
6. The other aspect would be go to conferences and expos in the United States
7. Cold call the clients using the hook to interest them
8. Set up pre-sale meetings
9. Close sales
10. Email campaigns are only mildly helpful in letting people know about your company and maybe working with clients to move them down the sales funnel
