How to quickly grow a startup abroad without dealing with bureaucracy or competitions

When these funny (at least to us) girls walked away from our booth, the neighboring exhibitors immediately started saying how lucky we were.

At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary interview. Speslab was interviewed by two young journalists who are apparently quite well known somewhere—we don’t even know exactly where. They run a website featuring startups they find interesting. They also seem to have direct connections with investors, so…

In the next day, offers started coming in—not only from the UK and across Europe, but also from Singapore and even Tokyo.

Although… the interview wasn’t entirely ordinary after all—but not because of us. The two journalists were bouncing around with their microphones with such incredible enthusiasm that it felt as if we had suddenly been transported into a circus arena. It was a real show. And the performance wasn’t ours, even though we were the ones being interviewed.

Their video blog is on YouTube. (https://youtube.com/shorts/xMumab5yjvA?si=-DrCQ4yQ-6AVEr0q)

To be honest, everything is already running smoothly for us, and we weren’t looking to get involved in that whole scene. We simply wanted to share a little life hack on how to find a direct path to global investors.

At first glance, these bloggers may not seem particularly remarkable, but they help make the startup world move much faster—without long waits for pitch reviews or endless selection competitions. We believe that all it takes is reaching out to them with an idea that genuinely catches their interest, and your project could gain real momentum—provided it truly deserves it.

Of course, you’ll probably need to fly to London once for the interview. We’re not offering any assistance with contacts, introductions, or travel arrangements. This is simply our own observation, which we’re sharing with fellow developers and startup founders.
